How It Works

The Three Parts of Your Implant

A dental implant is a complete tooth replacement system made of three precision-engineered components.

🔩

The Implant (Root)

A small titanium screw placed into the jawbone. Over 3–6 months it fuses with the bone through a process called osseointegration — creating a permanent, stable foundation.

🔗

The Abutment (Connector)

A small connector piece that attaches to the top of the implant and protrudes above the gumline. This is what the crown sits on and connects to.

🦷

The Crown (Tooth)

A custom-made porcelain crown matched exactly to the colour and shape of your surrounding teeth. This is the visible part of your implant — completely indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

FAQs

Dental Implant Questions

How much do dental implants cost in Nairobi CBD?+
At Palace Dental Centre, dental implants start from KSh 45,000 per implant including the crown. The final cost depends on the number of implants and any preparatory treatments needed (bone graft, extraction). We provide a full itemised quote at your free consultation. Payment plans are available.
Is implant surgery painful?+
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic — you will feel no pain during placement. Most patients experience mild soreness and swelling for 2–5 days afterwards, which is manageable with over-the-counter pain relief. Many patients say it was much easier than they expected.
Am I a candidate for dental implants?+
Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are good candidates. Key requirements are sufficient jawbone density and healthy gums. Smokers, diabetics, and those with certain health conditions can still receive implants but require careful assessment. We'll evaluate your suitability at your consultation.
How long do dental implants last?+
With proper care, the implant (titanium root) can last a lifetime. The crown typically lasts 15–25 years before needing replacement. Regular brushing, flossing and dental checkups are all that's needed to maintain your implant long-term.
Can I have multiple implants at once?+
Yes. Multiple implants can often be placed in the same surgical session, reducing overall treatment time. For patients missing all or most teeth, implant-supported bridges or All-on-4 solutions are available. We'll design a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
